Collect enough knowledge through websites, blogs and social media posts
a) Evaluate which are getting more interaction from visitors
b) If it is recent news then write on those topics or get the idea based on the comments
Check on the recent development in progress and write about that.
a) The benefits of features that are being added
b) What can be the alternative ideas about using the features
Check demands of the clients in the support forums or emails
a) Search for common questions and answer those clearly in the blog
Use Google Trends to find the current topics relevant to the product/service.
2. Writing blogs
Writing Title
a) Make sure to keep it simple and within 7-9 words.
b) Keep it interesting with appropriate use of sense of urgency
c) Make sure to clearly mention what the blog is about
d) Integrate Keyword if targeting is applicable
Writing Blog
a) Keep the language simple – not all readers are native English speakers
b) Introduction paragraph should properly summarize the topic – leaving the main answer
c) Use Sub-headings in paragraph
d) Do not use passive voice unless it is a quote by someone else.
e) Keep paragraphs limited to 2 sentences or 3 lines.
f) Make sure to summarize the blog – if possible point out the key takeaway
G) Add anchor links to the pages that have further information about it – do not put outbound links unless it’s our products (like free versions in the market places)
3. Blog distribution
Use of social media while making appropriate use of the hashtag and always reply to a comment.
a) Post the links on Facebook on Thursdays onwards, join related groups/pages and post the links there as well.
b) Post the same link with different description on Twitter at least three times in a timely interval
c) Post the link on linked in page. As this is a professional network, make sure to write clearly the benefit that you have offered by reading that post. Join different groups and post them as well.
d) Post the link on our Google Plus page so it adds to the SEO value.
Post the links on growthhacker.com, digg.com, delicious and stumbleupon.com. If the blog answers technical questions, we may even have the chance to post on StackOverflow.
