Selecting a career should be based on your personal interest, current market demands and a little foresight on how sustainable it could be.

Personal Interest based Career Selection

Let us talk about your interests. Most of the people are interested in forms of arts. Do you think you have appropriate circumstances to pursue your dream? Can you put your efforts together? If you are interested in music or such, your target is tough and the return will be delicious.

But, if your interest is in quantitative subjects, you are a lucky person. It is a hard work but there is no doubt that you should not follow your path of interest. Accountancy, mathematics, any forms of science or other such subjects have a wide scope. Also, they carry a strong sustainability aspect with them.

Is it not true that most people work to earn a living? If you are among them, it is highly possible that you already know how to check your opportunities. Yes - the vacancy advertisements. All you need to do is to obtain training and acquire skills for the jobs which are on the wanted list.

Even that might not work if you wish to build a career on the technology market. These changes too quickly. You must prepare yourself for the upcoming changes. So, what could you do? Simply check with someone who is in that business and get suggestions.

Growth Opportunity on the Career You Want

Now, this title is vague. Some people get confused here. It's better to ponder on these questions first.

Is it a growing market?

Can I excel in that market?

Both these questions are important and you should have clear answers to these. First, if the market is not growing, it might be about to reach a dead-end. You certainly don't want to get into that sector. Second, if you have interest and are dedicated, no hurdle can stop you from reaching your goal. Therefore, the second question becomes obsolete.

We all have bumps in our careers. But dead-ends on career path cannot be compensated. You want to get all the help you can before and after selecting your career.
After reading an article on the subject, I suggest you put five percent effort on selecting a career and ninety-five percent on making it a successful one.
